I'm Kabilan, Commercial Photographer, based in Chennai & Bangalore, specialising in Fashion Portraiture and Advertising Photography. Four years of Design school helped me better appreciate the Everyday Aesthetics of life and also introduced me to Photography. What started as a mere recording of my observations, has turned into a Passionate Profession.
Since 2010, I have shot Advertising Campaigns and Catalogues for a number of Brands as well as Independent Design Houses like Meta, oppo, Indian terrain, Caratlane, Nalli Silks, Tohl, Joyalukkas, Gatsby, Six Buttons Down, Mbespoke, Poonolil Silks, Label-G, Stephin Lalan, Harsh Parekh and Ambi by Sujata Pai
Apart from advertising photography, I have also shot key art and publicity Images across four Indian film industries for for Feature Films such as Coolie, Vikram, Alpha, Patriot, KIng100, mandaadi, Love Today, Dragon, Comali, Iraivan, Happy Raj and Managaram to name a few. I shot with actors such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Aamir Khan, Mammooty, Mohan Lal, Nagarjuna, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Jayam Ravi, Soubhin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parameswari, GV Prakash, Kajal Agarwal, Regina Cassandra, sorry Muthusamy, Suhaas, Sundeep Kishan and Shree. I have also worked on multiple TV Series across platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Jio Hotstar, Ahaa on projects like BigBoss Tamil, Vella Raja, Anya's Tutorial, Goli Soda.
I have been published on Covers and Editorials in major regional and National Magazines like The Hollywood Reporter, The Man, Vogu India, Savvy, Cinema Spice Entertainment, Inbox 1305, Cliq and in Regional Newspapers like The Hindu, Times of India, Indian Express and The Deccan Chronicle.
I conceptualised , shot and designed multiple Calendars for Sahodaran, an NGO working with and Empowering the lGBTQ Communities of South India.
I revel in Creating, Recreating and Capturing both the Quaintness in the Mundane as well as the Tension of a Dramatic Moment. I take great joy in being a Photographer. It has allowed me to do and see things, which in the normal walk of life, I would never have had the opportunity to notice and observe. It is this Experience that I wish to Share with the World.
