I'm Kabilan, Commercial Photographer, based in Chennai & Bangalore, specialising in Fashion Portraiture and Advertising Photography. Four years of Design school helped me better appreciate the Everyday Aesthetics of life and also introduced me to Photography. What started as a mere recording of my observations, has turned into a Passionate Profession.
Since 2010, I have shot Advertising Campaigns and Catalogues for a number of Brands as well as Independent Design Houses like Caratlane, Nalli Silks, Parisera, Tohl, Joyalukkas, Gatsby, Six Buttons Down, Mbespoke, Poonolil Silks, Label-G, Stephin Lalan, Harsh Parekh and Ambi by Sujata Pai
I also enjoy shooting Interiors, Architecture and Food for multiple hospitality and residential establishments like Chisel Homes, The Hamuse, 10 Downing Street, Mamalla Resorts, Hotel Clinton Park Inn and Chakra Villas. as wells as Educational institutions like Chellappan Vidya Mandir International School. I have shot Corporate Profiles as well as Industrial Spaces for companies like Numeric (Legrand Group), Alaska Engineering Solutions, Innowell Group and Mouglesoft.
Apart from advertising photography, I have also shot Publicity and Promotional Images for multiple Feature Films such as Vikram, Comali and Managaram starring actors like Kamal Hassan, Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Jayam Ravi, Kajal Agarwal, Regina Cassandra, Sundeep Kishan and Shree as well as for Amazon Prime Series Vella Raja starring Bobby Simha, Parvathy Nair and Gayathrie Shanker among others. and also for a number of actors in the likes of Ashok Selvan, Parvathy Nair as well as a number of models and performance artists.
I have been published on Covers and Editorials in major regional and National Magazines like The Man, Savvy, Cinema Spice Entertainment, Inbox 1305, Cliq and in Regional Newspapers like The Hindu, Times of India, Indian Express and The Deccan Chronicle.
I conceptualised , shot and designed multiple Calendars for Sahodaran, an NGO working with and Empowering the lGBTQ Communities of South India.
I revel in Creating, Recreating and Capturing both the Quaintness in the Mundane as well as the Tension of a Dramatic Moment. I take great joy in being a Photographer. It has allowed me to do and see things, which in the normal walk of life, I would never have had the opportunity to notice and observe. It is this Experience that I wish to Share with the World.
